The Story

'Write a Bestseller' will be uploaded in numerous parts. While the exact length is not yet known, I aim for the story to be long enough for you to immerse yourselves in but not too long that you may as well read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy instead.

The Writer

And as for me, I'm Jack Arkell, a Creative Writing and Journalism student at an English university.

While I have been writing for a while, this will be one of my first serious writing projects. Therefore, if this is no Bill Shakespeare, you now know why. But, I've had this particular story idea for a few years now, and am confident that it will be of a decent quality so as not to waste everyone's valuable meme-browsing time.

Drop me a message, head over to my 'Contact' page.

Chapters will be updated regularly, with Chapter 2 on its way Friday 8th March.

You, the readers

I would like to demonstrate my appreciation that you are reading these words. Readership and viewing numbers are not something I take for granted at all, and would like to thank you for checking this page out.

The idea here is to build up a solid number of regular readers. If you enjoy the story and keep coming back, I would be massively grateful if you could recommend this page to a friend. The more views I get, the more I'll be determined to maintain the quality of the writing. So the more you spread the word, the harder I'll try to structure sentences correctly, maintain a storyline that makes sense and spell words accurately.

Project Timeline

2008: I have an idea for a story, but stupidly decide to sit on it for a number of years.

2011: I attempt to write some opening chapters, realising that the concept is flawed by plot-holes and unrealistic characters.

Late 2012: 'Write a Bestseller' is given a full revamp, with a number of details and plot-points changed to improve the piece as a whole.

Jan 2013: Under the illusion that maybe someone will get some enjoyment out of reading it, this website is set up.

Jan 28th 2013: The opening chapter of 'Write a Bestseller' goes live.
